Hearts into semi- final.

Scottish Brewers Cup 2nd round.

Cupar Hearts faced a struggling 10 man Kettle United last Thursday in the second round of the Scottish Brewers Cup. Despite being a man down Kettle gave up a good fight and made the home team work hard for their victory. Hearts opened the scoring after 5 minutes when Duncan Campbell won a duel with visiting ‘keeper Kenneth Gallagher and the ball fell to Tommy Halley who did well to fire in from a tight angle. Cupar were knocking the ball around well but were missing all their chances in front of goal. The second period followed the same pattern but the introduction of Barry Sibanda for the last 10 minutes would soon change that. On the 91st minute he finished off an excellent move by hitting the net from 6 yards. An additional 6 minutes of injury time was played but Hearts couldn’t add to their 2 goal tally and progressed into the semi- final.
