Kingdom Caledonian League.

Cupar Hearts travelled to face Lumphinnans United in the last of the midweek fixtures on Tuesday evening. Brent Hardie and Scott Harvey both had efforts wide for the home side in the opening stages. But it was Hearts who had the ball in the back of the net after Gary Reilly did well to head onto Iain Boylan who fired home but the referee deemed him to be offside. Then Lumphinnans won a very dubious penalty after 5 minutes of play when Charles Anderson was judged to have fouled inside the area but justice was done when Steven McEwan did well to dive the right way and save. Back at the other end Scott McInroy had an effort fly high before Iain Boylan also blasted over. Cupar should have opened the scoring on the stroke of half time when a good Duncan Campbell cross found Iain Boylan. His deflected shot was gathered by Gary Reilly who was unlucky to see his effort go inches wide.

It was the home team that went ahead on 58 minutes when Lee Adamson fired in from distance. Going behind forced Hearts to step up and they started to apply more pressure on the Lumphinnans goal. And 4 minutes later it paid off when the sides were all square. Grant Fraser sent in an excellent long ball to Duncan Campbell who crossed to Iain Boylan who finally squared in to Scott Pryde who headed in at the far post. Cupar went on to get another with 10 minutes remaining. Iain Boylan was the provider again with a good cross and Iain O’Leary headed past Brian Kenny in the home goal to secure all three points.

Cupar Hearts: McEwan, Sharp, Anderson (C), McInroy, Boylan, O’Leary, Pryde, Campbell, Makein, Fraser and G. Reilly. Subs: Watson, M. Reilly and Bowman.
